Hydraulic oil is the most specified industrial fluid in the country and the one most often bought on grade alone. ISO VG 46 is the sensible default; the properties that decide whether a pump lasts are air release, water separation and filterability.
We supply HYDEN AW anti-wear hydraulic oil in ISO VG 10, 46 and 68, in twenty-litre pails. VG 46 covers most mobile and plant hydraulics, VG 68 suits systems running hot or heavily loaded, and VG 10 is for circuits that have to flow at first start. Compressor, turbine and metalworking fluids are not part of the range.
Every batch is released by AG Lubricants FZE against a certificate of analysis, with a retained sample kept on file so any pack in the field can be traced back. How it is tested

ISO VG 46 to DIN 51524 Part 2 (HLP) covers most mobile hydraulics in normal ambient conditions. Move to ISO VG 68 where the oil runs persistently hot or the pump has worn and internal leakage has increased — but fix a cooling problem rather than masking it with a heavier grade.
HLP is the DIN 51524 Part 2 classification for a mineral hydraulic fluid with anti-wear, anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion additives. It is the standard specification for anti-wear hydraulic oil, and what most mobile and industrial equipment asks for.
It is not advisable. Compressor oil is formulated around oxidation resistance at discharge temperature, because varnish on separator elements and discharge valves is what ends most compressor life. Use an oil meeting DIN 51506 VDL instead.
By condition rather than calendar. Oil analysis for viscosity, water content and particle count is far more reliable than a time interval, and on a large system it usually pays for itself the first time it catches contamination early.
